Flutes, Folk Voices and a Touch of Fantasy
“Wyld Things” by SeeD feels like a little journey into an old folk tale. The Netherlands- and Ireland-based band has a fascination with Celtic mythology, mythical creatures and fantasy worlds, and their latest single, released on October 11, 2026, fits naturally into that universe.
One of the things that makes this track interesting is how much space the instruments get. The flute isn't just there to add a little folk flavour. It takes the spotlight in extended instrumental passages, particularly around 1:35 and again at 2:34. During the second passage, the flute gives way to an unusual, almost sitar-like string sound, adding another colour to the arrangement.
The vocals bring a different kind of richness. The female voice blends with lower male voices, creating that wonderfully traditional, earthy folk character. Together, they give the music depth and fullness without losing its acoustic charm.
SeeD's musical world draws inspiration from Celtic legends, childhood fairy tales and fantasy classics like The Lord of the Rings. And you can hear why this style suits them. The instrumental sections leave room for imagination, almost as if the music is telling part of the story without words.
“Wyld Things” is a lovely discovery for anyone who enjoys acoustic folk with layered voices, expressive instruments and a little fantasy woven into the sound.
